Presentation of the company

The operational mode for our creations and the specifics of our dramaturgical approach come from the superimposition of matter, it’s a long haul working process wherein the baselines work together : working with animals, movement, musicality, conception of space, artistic research… Over the course of days, months, years, these grooves get deeper in each distinctive artistic field, always increasing our sense of exploration ; and when the time of creation has arrived, we make these grooves converge towards a creative melting pot. Therefore, in each discipline that we work in, each chosen individual (human as well as animal) is interlocked to see the birth of a dramatic construction, skilfully balanced where a tight script and improvisation answer each other.

We founded the Baro d’evel cirk company, originally a collective since 2001, and took over the artistic direction from 2006. Together we created « Le Sort du dedans » under a big top in 2009, « Mazùt » in theatres in 2012, « Bestias » under a big top in 2015, « Là » (first section of the diptych « Là, sur la falaise ») in theatres in 2018.

Show presentation

What will remain when we have taken everything away ? White will stay, without a doubt. And what we still have to blow up – to touch on the lowest common denominator. Who again obstinately talks of Là (There), from Là (Here). Whatever the cost. Whatever escapes from it. For the enchantment, for a passage, as it is for Joy.

At the beginning, the gestural is reduced to the bare essentials : two bodies, two genders, two colours, two dimensions, two reigns; the same solitude, the same persistent desire to continue and start again. The same deep longing in letting yourself be transformed by the other, moved by the other. As if everything existed only to be disturbed or crossed. There will be two humans and a pied crow embarking each other in a funny ballet, poetic and sensitive, where each body leaves a trace, where each story is written.
